OPC @29: How God Used Iba Gani Adams To Transform OPC And Yoruba Land – Hamzat Kazeem

Akinrogun Aareonakakanfo of Yoruba land, Chief Kazeem Adewale Hamzat said God has used the Aareonakakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Adams, to transform the Yoruba socio-cultural organization, the Oodua People’s Congress (OPC) as well as Yorubaland.
Speaking shortly after the weekly National Coordinating Council (NCC) meeting of the OPC leaders held at the Oodua House in Ikeja, Lagos, which also coincided with the 29th anniversary of organization, Hamzat, who is also the Coordinator General of the organization in Alimosho and its environs, said the journey of OPC began exactly on August 29, 1994.
He said the OPC came to life when all hope was lost, adding that the spirit of the Yoruba ancestors and the founding fathers of the Yoruba socio-cultural organization is still alive.
Applauding the vision, boldness, and courage of Iba Gani Adams, Akinrogun Aareonakakanfo of Yoruba land said it takes the grace of God for Aare Gani Adams to overcome all the obstacles and hindrances placed on the progress of organization since its inception.
OPC @29: How God Used Iba Gani Adams To Transform OPC And Yoruba Land – Hamzat Kazeem
“OPC started well with a clear vision to defend the interest of Yoruba race. We struggled against the enemies within and outside the organization, and today we are happy that we are telling a story of a successful transformation under the leadership of our father and leader, the Aare Onakakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Abiodun Ige Adams.
“Aare is a man of grace. He led the group when he was just 23, and today OPC has transformed to become one of the leading socio-cultural organizations in the southwest.
“Leading the struggle for the interest of Yoruba race at that young age is never an easy task, but God chose him and supported his dream to transform OPC and Yorubaland.
“As OPC is celebrating its 29 years, it has been a torturous journey, but to the glory of God, our leader, Iba Gani Adams has been the tool used by God to champion the cause of the organization.
“Aare Gani Adams is like a transformer that supplies and gives light to many of us. Many have also benefitted and still benefitting from the unquantifiable grace that it has pleased God to bless him with.
“Apart from all these, we cannot tell the OPC story without mentioning all our heroes who had paid the supreme price in the cause of the struggle. There are those that died to ensure that we fulfill the dream of the success we celebrate today.
“But in all of these, there is need for us to remain focused as we follow the template laid down by our father and leader, Aare Gani Adams.”
Speaking on the achievements of the organization, Hamzat stated further that the OPC has succeeded in defending the interest of Yoruba race playing major role in cultural promotion and driving the Yoruba project across Nigeria.
“As I am talking to you now, our father, Iba Gani Adams is presently in Egypt for the official launching of Oodua Progressive Union (OPU) in Egypt.
“OPU is a sister organization of the OPC. It is a global brand of all prominent Yoruba sons and daughters in the diaspora and it is presently in 97 countries in the world. So, Aare’s efforts in projecting Yoruba race is beyond Nigeria, it is an effort to project and market our race to the global world and that is the vision of a leader that is ready to bring out something out of nothing,” he said.
